Broccoli and Cheese Chaffle
This savory chaffle was made with cheddar cheese and broccoli. If you don’t like broccoli, try substituting sautéed onions, spinach, and roasted peppers.
While I enjoyed them on their own, if you like to dip things, sour cream or ranch dressing would make a great accompaniment to these savory chaffles.
Fresh or Frozen Broccoli for keto chaffle recipe ?
I used fresh broccoli, and instead of the stems, I used the tops of the broccoli. Instead of using fresh broccoli, you may cook up some frozen broccoli. Just be sure to drain any excess liquid from the broccoli before adding it to the chaffle batter.
How to Make Chaffles Crispy?
When you make chaffles, you won’t get crispy like you would with flour-based chaffles, but you will get what is considered crispy for keto cuisine.
The easiest approach to achieve a crispy chaffle is to cook it for 4 minutes in your waffle maker and then let it aside for a minute or two after removing it from the waffle maker.
Allowing the chaffle to sit on the dish for a few minutes allows it to thicken up. Tom and the kids like to eat chaffles immediately out of the waffle maker, but I prefer to let my sit for a while. Your choice is entirely yours.
What do you cook a keto chaffle recipe in?
I make my chaffles with the mini Dash Waffle maker since it’s adorable, small, and makes the right size for me. You can make regular waffles with a conventional waffle machine.
The only difference is that this recipe makes two chaffles in a micro waffle maker and one chaffle in a regular waffle maker.
Broccoli and Cheese Chaffle Ingredients
- cheddar cheese.
- fresh chopped broccoli. I personally like using just the tops of the broccoli versus the stem part.
- egg
- Garlic powder
Combine almond flour, cheddar cheese, egg, and garlic powder in a mixing bowl. Using a fork, I find it easier to combine everything.
At a time, pour half of the Broccoli and Cheese Chaffle batter into the Dish Mini waffle machine. In a waffle maker, cook the chaffle batter for 4 minutes.
Allow each chaffle to harden up on a platter for 1-2 minutes. Serve alone or with a dollop of sour cream or ranch dressing.
