Easy Chocolate Waffles
These are easy chocolate waffles you can make for breakfast. When we were in Utah a few weeks back, we went to Oktoberfest at Snowbird Ski Resort, and that’s when I got the inspiration for these easy chocolate waffles.
We used to go to this event for fun every year when we lived in Utah, just to eat the wonderful food, listen to the entertaining music, and ride the chairlift to the top of the mountain.
We’re not drinkers, but you don’t have to be to enjoy all of the wonderful easy chocolate waffles activities at Snowbird! Anyway, to cut a long tale short, we like to go early in the morning to avoid the throng.
Easy Chocolate Waffles is for Breakfast or Dessert
However, the downside is that you will have to wait a long time for any of the food sellers to open. When we arrived, I was already hungry and had a strong desire for the German Chocolate Cake.
Trust me, the cake alone is worth the journey up there. However, I was starving for breakfast.
My mind was racing with ideas for how to mix breakfast and German chocolate cake while roaming about and enjoying the festivities when the lightbulb went off.
I combined some of my favorite recipes (chocolate waffles, coconut frosting, and praline pecan syrup) to make these little beauties a few days later, and they are fantastic, as I described above.
How To Make easy chocolate waffles
You can have easy chocolate waffles for breakfast or as a dessert. If serving as a dessert, a dollop of vanilla ice cream is a must– truly, oh my. Because I am utilizing the original recipes as they are, the proportions in the recipe below are, well, disproportionate.
If you’re serving these to a large group, double the waffle recipe to match the icing and syrup amounts. I prefer to keep extra syrup on hand for pancakes or ice cream toppings, as well as additional frosting for… well, pretty much everything.
If you don’t want any leftovers, cut the frosting and syrup recipes in half. It’s entirely up to you how you go about doing this.
Toppings To Try easy chocolate waffles
These chocolate waffles are delicious on their own, but there are so many ways to make them even better. Use the German Chocolate Topping from the recipe below to finish them off.
Alternatively, you may use bananas, strawberries, raspberries, or a mix of the three. On top of that, a drizzle of caramel syrup would be fantastic.
